Ben Modica
Ben Modica received his MM in piano pedagogy from West Chester University. For some years, he served as an adjunct professor at Alvernia College, (now University,) where he taught fundamentals of music via piano; Intro to Music; American music; Theory and Harmony, as well as private lessons.
He continues to be intrigued by music for the organ, and has studied organ extensively, most recently with Eric Plutz, staff organist at Princeton University. Currently, he is the organist and director of music at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Green Lane.
Ben has a number of original compositions to his credit, as well as a brief text for introductory piano, which he frequently incorporates into his teaching.
As a full time occupation, Ben serves as senior clerk for the Hon. Magisteral District Judge Maurice H. Saylor.
He has also enjoyed long-time studies in Spanish with Professor Giovanna Steyaert of Ursinus College.
Ben enjoys hunting for antiques, and is the proud parent of 8 cats!
